No New Posts Roof of the World

The highest peak in all of Valsaine, the Roof of the World is a treacherous, yet beautiful, place. It is nearly unreachable in the winter, as snowstorms are nearly constant. However, though snow covers it year-round, it is more easily reached in the summer, offering a full sight of the beauty of the mountain range. It is high bragging rights to have made it to the top.

No New Posts Glass Caves

Located on one of the bigger mountains, the Glass Caves are one of the shelters that house the herd during harsh winters and occasional snowstorms in other seasons. They go deep into the mountain, varying from wide, open chambers to narrow tunnels. There is never true darkness here; glass-like gems are embedded intermittently in the rock, letting off a soft glow that keeps the caves dimly lit.

No New Posts The Headwaters

Fed by many smaller streams, the headwaters of the Vaerult River move at a sluggish pace at the base of the mountains. The water is cool and clean, and it flows slow enough that mares don't need to be worried for their foals on the banks.

Board Description
Northern Mountains
Legend says that these mountains were raised from flat ground by The Old Ones long ago. The traditional home of the Dreika horses, the mountains are a harsh place to live. Snow never leaves the peaks, where a majority of the herd lives, though the base can be more mild in the summer. The Vaerult River begins on the eastern end of the range, and a stream feeds Beldame Lake from the center. The harsh conditions are part of the reason it is rare for any other species to come around; they are not built for the cold weather.

Herd led by the stallion Gersham Disnami.
