Valsaine, which consists of the Mainland and outer islands, is the land created by The Old Ones. Every place in Valsaine can be explored except the two northernmost islands and Indomitus Island, as the Black Channel has turbulent currents that cannot be crossed. There are no other land masses close enough to Valsaine to travel to - those who leave never return, and there have never been any outsiders to reach the landmass. The river that flows from the eastern part of the mountains to the coast is called the Vaerult River.

The planet on which Valsaine rests is orbited by one sun and two moons. The larger of the moons is called Dreimus, and the smaller is Ellya, the "Maiden's Moon," called so because it is always chased by the larger Dreimus across the sky.
