It brought me slight sanity to claim that there was from where I was born. For weeks I had wondered a landscape that had been a moving plain of sand. I remembered the word for the scape, a desert. A place where very little to nothing grew and the terra was a ever changing world as the winds blew the dry ground at it's will.
All through my time of wondering my thoughts had been as frayed as the billowing sands; the only thing that kept me stable was a deep urging to follow that pulsing light called the northern star. I wasn't completely sure why I was to walk the earth with the burning star as my guide but because I had nothing ells to lean on I did. And because I had no other purpose I took to falling off my course and going east or west for a few miles to explore then going back to following north after my curiosity had been fulfilled.
Slowly but surly the landscape changed, from endless sand to endless wheat and grassland. The grass was tall and billowed in the wind, moving just like the sands had, to the whims of fate. The tall stocks brushed my withers in some places as I trecked through it's lushness. My hooves bent the plants as I walked among them, leaving a twisting path behind.
The ground beneath me started to turn from hard to soft and squishy and I soon found myself standing infront of a slowly moving stream. The stream wasn't big, just about a foot wide but the water flowing over the pebbled bottom looked clear and clean. The spring afternoon was cool and relaxing but the last time I had had water was the day before at a rather large pool of water. So with a relish in the act I stooped and lipped at the liquid.
