B A I L E Y A lone figure drifted in between small birch tree's, a metallic sheen of silver bark gently floated down to the clear floor as broad roan shoulders brushed up against it. Tight squeeze. Soft footsteps then took this phantom into a lush green clearing that was relatively large; it supported copious amounts of life from birds to insects a like. The sun pierced through the heavy clouds that one would expect to be a burden earlier on for the weather seemed un predictable. But this place was un predictable, this lone equine hadn't came across such strange territory. Weary from his journey came to a soft halt. His handsome head lowered and his ebony tail swished content with this place he'd just discovered. Bailey had finally found a safe haven where he could potentially rest and thrive forever. Delight overwhelmed him as the humidity of the clearing rose, the calm, crisp scent of fresh grass with a dewy lather entered his flared nostrils. In and out he blew taking in as much information he could about the readily available food in front of him. Saliva remains could be detected but this did not worry this brute for they were days old. His black painted forelegs fell before him and he landed gently on his strong, broad knees as his pasterns flexed so he could successfully drop the other half of his body freely. With a slight thud, his roan rump landed petite in the grass, especially for his sheer size. Chestnut muzzle nuzzling at the almost un scathed grass began to pull the lush greenery and devour it - he hadn't eaten properly in days. Bailey's pale blue, almost white ashen orbs seemed to darken in colour when his mood was lifted; almost a deep oceanic blue. He was at peace, alone... Or was he?

Vigilant as always, the sleek figure of Konane was tense with the knowledge that just beyond her vision, there was something or someone that did not belong in this place. Or rather, something or someone which she perceived did not belong in this place. Her muscles taut, the mare had moved with as much stealth as she possessed, creeping through the shadows that the trees o'erhead cast down on her with eyes wide and nostrils flared.
Step by step, she could make out more and more of the setting that awaited her ahead. Without revealing her presence, she used the trees for protection, peering from behind one of them to spy upon the intruder (as she perceived the individual). Based on the smell of him (heavy and musky) he was definitely a 'he'. And he was a he with whom she was unacquainted. And Konane knew her herd, knew it like the back of her hoof. OUtsider. Her eyes narrowed, barely able to suppress the snort that had risen within her.
Stepping forward into the clearing, her teal tinted eyes blinked as she adjusted to the surplus of light, expression cold as she stared down the male before her.
"Rather bold, don't you think? Eating perfectly good grass that doesn't belong to you, and with a sentry of the Eastern Herd close at hoof. Very bold of you. Or stupid. One of those two, I would venture." The only question was, which was he? The mare's unyielding stare none diminished by the pause that extended between them, she tried to make sense of the beast at her hooves. What is he thinking, placing himself on the ground like that in foreign lands? He's at my mercy, even if he is larger than me, he wouldn't be able to move quickly enough to stop me if I were to attack with him lying down. Not a very good strategy if you ask me. She snorted sharply, flicking her tail sharply now that she felt she had made her mind up about this one.
